Singer Madonna is heading back to court in Malawi on May to appeal a ruling blocking her from adopting three-year-old Mercy James.
A court in Lilongwe, capital of Malawi last April 3, 2009 denied the singer’s request for an interim adoption of the Malawi baby. The adoption bid failed because of the requirement that prospective parents must be a resident of Malawi for 18 to 24 months.
Madonna’s legal counsel lodged an appeal against the decision after receiving the court’s decision. Malawi’s Supreme Court has set a May 4 hearing to decide on the case.
Alan Chinula, Madonna’s lawyer is hopeful of a successful appeal as the initial rejection was based “on an archaic law of over 50 years ago.”
Madonna’s adoption of Malawian child David Banda, three, was made official last 2008 following two years of legal wrangling. She is also a mother to Rocco, eight, from her marriage to Guy Ritchie, and 12 year old Lourdes, from a previous relationship.

Ich habe gerade im IRC einen Link zu einer Webapplikation bekommen, die sich tatsächlich mal Webapplikation schimpfen darf. Es fühlt sich an und sieht auch so aus wie Apples Keynote. Allerdings läuft alles im Browser. Mit Drag&Drop, coolem Feeling, Bilder- und Videosuche direkt in der App und vielem mehr besticht 280slides.com mit vielen Funktionen und einem [...]
Ich habe gerade im IRC einen Link zu einer Webapplikation bekommen, die sich tatsächlich mal Webapplikation schimpfen darf. Es fühlt sich an und sieht auch so aus wie Apples Keynote. Allerdings läuft alles im Browser.
Mit Drag&Drop, coolem Feeling, Bilder- und Videosuche direkt in der App und vielem mehr besticht 280slides.com mit vielen Funktionen und einem schönen Aussehen. Wie das Ganze im IE läuft, weiss ich nicht, aber im FF, Safari und Camino läuft 280slides.com recht gut und flüssig, die nötige Bandbreite vorausgesetzt.
Eine echte Empfehlung für alle, die selten Präsentationen erstellen müssen. Lediglich der Export ging in meinem Test nicht. Ich denke mal, dass aber hinten mindestens ein PDF oder PNG’s bei rauskommen werden, mit denen man dann die Präsentation halten kann. Alternativ kann man sich natürlich auch einen Account zusammenklicken und die Folien beim Vortrag direkt aus dem Netz abspielen.
Für mich gehört 280slides.com zu den fortschrittlichsten Webapplikationen. Und definitiv auch zu den hübschesten!

In ABS-CBN’s “The Buzz” last Sunday, Kim Chiu admitted that her parents’ separation is one of the major reasons why she’s not yet ready to commit with anyone.
Kim Chiu said: “Ayokong masaktan muna. Siyempre lagi yan di ba, pag mag-boyfriend, mag-girlfriend laging nasasaktan?”
The actress also added that it might take some time before she gets into a serious relationship. She is also thankful to her onscreen partner Gerald Anderson for not pressuring her to jump into a relationship. Anderson has publicly admitted his feelings for the actress.
“Hindi naman siya nangungulit. Hindi rin siya laging nagtatanong, parang wala lang. Walang tanungan kung, ‘ano na ba tayo’ hindi siya makulit kaya okay naman siya,” the “Tayong Dalawa” actress said.
Kim Chiu turned 19 on Sunday, April 19, 2009.
In the same live interview with “The Buzz,” the actress expressed her gratitude to her family based in Cebu who is there to support her.
“Thank you dahil lagi silang nandiyan. Kapag wala akong time, tumatawag sila. Tapos pumupunta [sila] dito sa Manila tapos sinu-surprise nila ako… tsaka nagta-trabaho naman ako para sa kanila,” the teary-eyed actress said.
